Built for the people
who make things.
PLF Radio is a community-first internet radio station dedicated to artists, songsmiths, crafters, and entrepreneurs — the creative heartbeat of every town and neighborhood.
Where the idea began
PLF Radio started with a simple frustration: the creative people doing the most meaningful work in our communities rarely had a dedicated voice. The painter working out of her garage. The 15-year-old launching his first product. The nonprofit director stretched thin but never stopping.
We wanted to build something that served them — not just featured them. A station that educated, inspired, and connected. That treated creativity as serious work and entrepreneurship as something everyone, at every age, could do.
So we built it. Seven themed days. Two flagship projects. One mission: compassion as a programming philosophy.
Radio with intention
Every hour on PLF Radio is designed — not filled. We believe that the format of a show shapes the listener’s experience as much as the content. That’s why we structure each day around a central theme, build toward a noon Master Class, and close with music that lets listeners create in peace.
We draw from two original projects — the Songsmith Project and Artist Podcasts — for tone, style, and depth. These aren’t just content sources; they’re the DNA of how we interview, how we listen, and how we present stories.
We also believe radio should be warm. Not corporate. Not distant. You should feel like you’re listening to someone who genuinely cares whether you finish that painting, launch that business, or learn to knit.
What we stand for
Our values
Compassion first
Every segment is built with empathy for the listener’s experience. We know what it feels like to be a beginner, to struggle with pricing your work, or to feel invisible in the creative economy. We speak to that.
Community over content
We’re not just programming a station — we’re cultivating a community. Listeners are participants. Their voices, their work, and their stories belong on the air as much as anyone’s.
Practical inspiration
Inspiration without application is just decoration. Every day on PLF Radio blends the motivational with the practical — so listeners leave with both a feeling and a next step.
Youth as leaders
Our 12–18 entrepreneur segment isn’t a novelty — it’s a cornerstone. Young people are already doing extraordinary things. We treat them like the business leaders they are.
Nonprofits as heroes
The organizations quietly doing the hardest work in our communities deserve more than a mention. They deserve a platform, a spotlight, and a listening audience that might just show up and help.
Music as foundation
Every day begins and ends with music. Not as filler — as atmosphere. The late-night “Music to Create By” block is as intentional as any interview segment. Sound shapes everything.
The projects behind the station
Two original projects form the creative backbone of PLF Radio’s tone and approach.
The Songsmith Project
An in-depth exploration of songwriting as craft, business, and calling. The Songsmith Project features long-form interviews with songwriters at every level — from bedroom composers to professional co-writers — as well as original music, behind-the-song breakdowns, and the practical realities of making a living from music.
On PLF Radio, Songsmith content anchors Wednesday evenings and Feature Fridays, lending the station its intimate, storytelling-first tone.
Artist Legacy
A curated series of conversations with working visual artists — painters, illustrators, sculptors, textile artists, and more — about the full arc of a creative life. Not just the work itself, but the doubt, the discipline, the business, and the community that makes it possible.
Artist Podcasts shapes the way PLF Radio approaches Technique Tuesdays and Theory Thursdays — with genuine curiosity, careful listening, and deep respect for process.
Who’s behind PLF Radio
